If I want to play games which is most prefered to upgrade?

I would say the obvious choice is to upgrade the pc. As it is a lot better. It is faster, more powerful and easier to upgrade. having said that, i see no point in upgrading it as it is already quite fast, the only thing you would need to do would be to buy a graphics card for it. If you can afford it, get an 8800, otherwise go with some thing like the 7600 and upwards

Yeah you have an E6300 in that HP, I'd build that. It already has 2GB of RAM so all you really need for gaming at that point is a good video card and a power supply to support it. For well under $500 you could make that HP a good gaming rig. Since you have factory HP BIOS you can't overclock that processor but it will be adequate at stock speeds. Slap a 7900, X1950, 8800, ect in that thing and it will run most of today's games on high settings....not all though.

Saphire x1950GT on Newegg for 149.99/119.99 after MIR. Doesn't even require an external power connector, but a solid power supply comes in for less then 80 dollars.

A G80 would be bottlenecked by that system without serious overclocking, and even then still. He could wait for a mainstream card to come out, otherwise unless you're packing E6600 performance or better (ie overclocking lesser stuff), you can get by with that. Plus...Counterstrike? WoW? Those aren't resource hogs, and the card I mentioned wouldn't have a problem tearing through those, even at 1600x1200.
