I'm finally going the DSL route next week, and I'm going to need a wired router to connect two, maybe three PCs to the DSL modem for connection sharing. I would like to know your choice for best brand in the US for a consumer model router.

Ahh we finally find out you are from the US....

I personally like the Linksys, and the ease of working tih their routers. They perform well and dont look like a square box. Not that I would drive mine around the block...

I have had a few bad experiences with Belkin. Not bad, but not always good.

Probably Linksys... Though if I were you, I'd get a Buffalo wireless router and load DD-WRT on it. You'll have TONS of features(wired and wireless) and already have wireless if you ever need it.

I've worked with all of them except the Netgear, There is no big difference I had problems with all of them.
So go with the Netgear :p

I've had a Belkin Wireless AP for a few years without any problems. I got a Linksys a few months ago and thats also been really good to me.

I am currently using Draytek Vigor 2800G's

They are very stable, and have great VPN capabilities.

I ditched my netgear DG834G's for these.

Our new BT HomeHub is a lot better than the D-Link that it replaced, more powerful WiFi and a long bit of Ethernet.

Picked up the Linksys BEFSR41 for $40. Had a bit of trouble with connecting it, but found out that I had to adjust the Verizon modem to "bridge mode" and now everything works great. Thanks to all for the input. Next project: how to make it work properly with p2p, but I think I can handle that without bending forum rules ;)
