Warcraft?

For a new gamer, is it worth the time and effort to begin playing this game now? If not, what do you suggest?

I guess I just want to know if it is worth my time to learn how to play warcraft at this point. Or, if there's another game that is coming out that will be even better... I hate to get into warcraft right now and then have the next big thing come along in two or three months!

Thanks,

VB:D

Warcraft? 2? 3? World of Warcraft? Which one are we talking about here? If it's WoW then it's probably fine to get into it. What they will probably do is release expansion pack after expansion pack until it looks like the Sims on the shelf or until they stop selling.

I say if you wanna get into get it world of warcraft and then eventually you can get the burning crusade which I think is an expaneison bc if you buy burning crusade you can't play it without the original.

No

And to the OP, It is always good to enter a game that has over 7 million subscribers world wide. The trouble might be once you hit 70, trying to get into a good raiding guild ( if you want to persue that) as they are probably full. When you make your character make it on a medium-high population realm, there for you have ample amounts of people to level with, do instances etc etc. If yah need any other advice class wise or profs. I could help you out there as well :)

Thank you for the kind reply. I will definitely check WOW out very soon. Do I buy the expansion pack along with the original program??

I bought wow, played it till i reached lvl 35, then quit playing it. I don't know why I quit, I guess i just didn't wanna play it anymore.

Anywho, I'd say not to buy the expansion pack at first, just buy the original, and check it out and learn it first.

I would think Belfong is right. However, if you have not already purchased the Original game, you could buy one of the 14-day trials for like 1.99 at a retail store, or I think they still have the trial promotion up on their website. Either way, they are both good.

Word to the wise and speaking from experience, Have fun and enjoy the game but do not, I repeat do not get overly hooked. I got really addicted to the game last year and I suffered tremendously (grades, woemen, football) and have really cut back, almost to the point of not playing :). But thats just me..you may have more will power than I do ;)

I don't think you should get Warcraft of any type, get some FPS into you, buy BF2, C.S:S, and nearly anyother online FPS, and then you will never get bored.

And you cant really get addicted to a FPS, because unline WoW you don't have levels to gain or somthing like that that gets you addicted, its just pure fun.

That's my oppinion but I guess everyone else will be noobs and be like "OMG U R FAG, WOW IS LEIK COOOOL!"

Kent.

What if the poster didn't like FPS? Perhaps he was an RPG fan and wanted to try the best one on the market (Toot toot toot, I am tooting World of Warcrafts horn! :) ). But FPS can get very boring. Take UT2K4, I was ape shit about that game when it came out, then few months later..bleh! No fun. Counter Strike was the same way, the community runied that one for me..You must do this this and this to play on a server or else you will be banned..not my style. I'm not a fan of FPS, they are fun for a quick change, but RTS, RPG, and MMORPG are my styles of games..and Warcraft is a top contender in both :)
