heyy i have a question, if i ran 2 ati x2900512mb in crossfire how much watt do i need im prob gonna stick with 800gts but if amd comes out with a great overclocking processor on a crossfire board ill get them both if not c2d and 8800gts

does 2900 need 800 watts for 1 or 2 or what i have a ocz gamestream psu alredy brought

It's a safe bet to just double the requirements of a single x2900, but it wouldn't actually be that high since when they tell you the minimum wattage, that factors in the power usage of the other computer components. 800W should work, as long as theres adequate amperage on the +12V rails, but I believe nVidia recommends a 1KW PSU for dual 8800GTX's.

Crossfire boards are rare, especially for the LGA775 platform. You can find them, but alot of them arent as good at overclocking as the 965x and 680i chipsets are.

680i and 8800gts it is 700w will power up 2 8800gts and other crap fine

i was thinking if amd k series or watever processor was really oc able on a crossfire board i would go with that since i been with intel in desktops

on my build i planned e6700 oc 8800gts (make it sli in a year) 2gb g skill ddr2 800 and 700watt psu thermaltec cpu cooling and a 120mm n few 80mm fans sound good?

HD2900XT can't even compete with 8800GTX, it is more comparable to 8800GTS 640MB in terms of performance. HD2900XT consumes a lot of power, much more than 8800GTS and it produce a lot of noise.

8800GTS is also $70 cheaper

As Mr.Suave said, it would be better to go with 8800GTS
