In vista, when it asks you to make an image(.iso etc) cd of vista, is it actually supposed to be the actual cd

like, coz ive made the cd, but there just seems to be normal data on the disc, (like folders and stuff)
and there is a .iso file with it, but when i click on it, nero says cannot open file.
so if something does go wrong, then how would i use that cd??

sorry dude, that made no sense

lol, i mean..
when u first buy a comp wit vista, when it starts up, it asks you to make a backup of the factory settings, and it says that it will make the exact image of vista(like .iso), but it doesnt, when i insert the disk it doesnt come up with the vista screen thingy.
lol
idk how to explain it then..

Where did you buy your PC from, and what make & model is it, sounds like vista was pre-installed, the pc didn't come with reinstall discs, so it is asking you to make one now.

its not making a ISO image of the OS its making a backup of your system
you should be able to boot to the cd and it will restore it to the factory defaults
