Best Modern AGP Motherboard

My Uncle switched to Vista and he wants to run it with all the goodies. Sadly his Pentium 4 (2.66) and 1.5 gigs of single channel 333 mhz ram can't take it. He would like to get an Intel Quad Core but he bought a new Radeon x1950 while trying to fix up his computer to Vista Home Premium stats. He would like to have the ability to use his new video card in the next build. Are there any modern agp motherboards that are really good? I came across Asrocks that are Quad Core able but they do not support 800 mhz ram and Sata II. This makes me sad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would just bite the bullet and go with a pcie board. AGP is dead, they will not be making any new video cards in the future for that standard.

It's a shame they killed AGP, it was a good standard, but it was a way to make everyone buy new motherboards and video cards.

Like a difference of 10% or something close to there? Bandwidth with agp was never a problem, in fact I don't believe we ever actually used it to it's full potential. It was just like ddr2, a really minor upgrade simply used to sell the newer boards.

actually there is no good or bad mother board..it just depend on what u features u wan on a motherboard.

They never came close to using all of AGP's potential. As a matter of fact, the top end of AGP's potential is still higher than the top of the line pcie card used today. AGP could have run todays cards, but it made the manufactures more money by changing the standards.

How is AGP's potential higher than PCI-e? And also, how would the manufacturers make more money? They could've just made newer motherboards with AGP couldn't they...
