DVD spits out blanks 1% through burn

Hey guys, woundering if you could help me out here. Ive got a BTC DVDRW IDE1004 dual layer +/- 4x dvd burner. When i try and burn .iso files onto -dvdr's itll get to about 1-2% of the burn completed, and then random open and close the disc tray a couple of times which obviously leads to a failed burn. This is extremely annoying and i cant work out what to do except buy another burner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont get any error messages. I am using nero 6. It will burn Cd's fine and it used to burn dvd's, the same media, from the same spindel infact, it'll just spit them out as though someone presses eject. Then nero will just tell me the burn has failed on 4x.

if it fails, you should have a log ... post it. And, what are you trying to burn to a DVD? data? video?

Drive manufacturers will realse firmwares on their websites from time to time or you can get custom hacked ones. It's usually a quick executable you just run

Consider burnign slower?

if it fails, you should have a log ... post it

Hell even if it doesnt fail you get a log :p

im burning a .iso of a perfectly legitamate, home made film from a friend.

Try burning to the Image recorder to see if its a filestructure issue :)

when you eat something and you spit it out that means you dont like it.

so maybe your burner doesnt like that dvd media try a different brand?

Not sure if you have fixed your problems yet, but that same exact thing happened to me when I first started to burn CD's. All I had to do was "Verify All Music Files" or something similar to that. It was just a button you had to click.

I had that problem when burning dvds with Nero... slowing down the speed worked brilliantly for me! hope it works out for you :)
