Building my PC

Hello Everyone,
After reading all of the benefits of building your own PC, I think I finally want to try it. I want to get some information first though, is there a nice book, cd, website, or dvd that explains how to build a pc to a beginner (this includes installation directions, a list of all parts needed, explanations of certain formats, (for ex. explanation of AGP and PCI Express) and any other important information)

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Thank You

yes there are many benefits such as it being cheaper and you are able to have exactly what you want. I dont know of any websites but its quit easy to do. when you buy all the bits just make sure that they are all compatible with each other, e.g you want to buy a motherboard that is compatible with the processor you buy. It should say on the item description what hardware the motherboard can support

As for putting it all together, its just like a jigsaw. if it dosent fit in there its not ment to, you just find where it plugs in to and thats it!

hmm that seems pretty easy.

can i still get a list somewhere of all the parts I need?

This is what I think I need (please tell me what additional stuff i'll need :))

Case
Power Supply
Motherboard
Hard Drive
processor (heatsink?)
OS
video card
drives
sound card
Memory
additional case fans/cooling devices?
monitor, keyboard, speakers, etc.

Thanks for the response!

I believe there is a very good guide on here somewhere that goes into depth about selecting parts, building the computer, testing it etc
