I haven't tried it on a portable but it ran well on the high settings with anliasing and antistropic features disabled on the last build seeing a Radeon X1300 Pro. How much memory is installed on the laptop there? A good 1gb will help.

The 7600GT can play half life 2 smoothly with AA or AS enabled, but not at the same time at a resolution of 1280x1024. Half life 2 is not a resource hog. However, I think the mobile version of the 7600 is not as good as the desktop one so yeah, you might have to pull back on the resolution or the effects.

It can't play it on max settings at a medium/high resolution, but it can play it on medium-high very well.

What? that's weird, with the 2900?

I've played it maxed on my 7600gt, 30-50 FPS, 1280 x 1024. I never enabled AA or AS though, never thought to try. I thing the 7600GO will play it great maxed, or close to it.

My old geforce 6600 can play play HL2 at 1024x768 on Max setting with 2xAA and 4xAF

So 7600GT should run it on Max setting

I was talking about using the 7600, not my video card.

Thanks for the replies, the graphics card came with the 'Acer Aspire 5680'. It has 2gb Ram, Intel centrino duo and the os is xp.

I ran Half Life and HL2 at 1280x1024 with high details without enabling either the AA or AS settings on an old Radeon 9550 AGP card. It also ran well on the last build with the budget card mentioned earlier. The only recent problem was a Steam update during the summer months passed since by additional updates.

Pah, with such a resolution? Not even noticeable, unless of course you're actively looking for such jaggies, and why the crap would I be doing that? GTFO.

..... Enjoy you're time back while 4chans down buddy. :p
