I didnt think it looked that good, even for pre alpha.


As for crysis, i think they actually downgraded it since the original demos. Either that or they were using a different lighting system.

I love the fire in that game :D It looks so cool and behaves so realistically. In fact I can imagine the whole game being about as realistic as you can get in a first-person-shooter, not just in terms of visuals, but physics and AI too.

What impressed me was how everything reacted to the enviorment on the same level. How when the wind blew nothing was not affected by it. It's amazing the level of detail they use.

I'm looking forward to this much more than i was for Crysis. I love that things are constantly growing, and that if you light the fields on fire, the flames will travel with the wind..

Oh and Console fanboys can rejoice, it's being developed by a separate team for both 360 and PS3!!

First I would like to say, horrible quality video's. There was a thread a while back with some HD ones that showed the same video.

But to my question, when is far cry 2 supposed to be out? I still need time to beat the original far cry :D!.

No but total environmental immersion might with a very aggressive and intelligent AI with what looks like an almost free-roam fps with a pretty good story might.


It looks like it was taken on a phone or bad camera which is probably why it's bad. And according to the video it's an early-alpha so I'd say probably a while till it's out.

From the the video on the fist page, it looks rubbish, if I'm being honest... I don't know, it looks exactly like the first one, but a different place... Doesn't float my boat!

dan you know i was looking at some google image screenshots of it today and i thought the exact same thing.

It looks the same as the first one but maybe with a few graphics tweaks and a diffrent setting lol

they should have just stuck with crysis it looks much better.

I think it looks more like Crysis than it does the first one.

I don't know why so many people are hating on this game, I think it'll be amazing. I mean, let's atleast wait until closer to it's realise before saying that it is going to be rubbish.

The fact that Crytek have implemented so much in terms of visuals, physics, AI, weapons, vehicles and vegetation at this early stage of development just goes to show that they have huge aspirations for this game. I personally think that it will be nothing short of brilliant when it's released, just as long as they don't pile in any more mutant monkey/alien squiddy crap and stick to pure, unrestricted sandbox gameplay.

You guys don't know. I saw that video too that guy has very weak computer. My friend here has Far Cry and it's great he says, he plays it on medium without any problems and lags. And, he doesn't have so good computer and graphic card.
So...
Don't judge it if u have never tried...

well.. if it is what its supposed to be, i'm pretty sure it will be a good game.
altough, i have my doubts about how it will actually run on pc's (I mean, take Crysis atm, when i jumped a truck into the roof of a wooden house, the fps went down really fast, as if it couldnt handle the physic's calculations or so. and for me, that kinda of things really brings a game down, because if you can play if pretty good in every situation, except 1 where it really starts lagging, I'd say its either a bug or sloppy programmed.

anyways, I am looking forward to this. but what they are implementing now, and what will be in the actual game. well, we've seen with crysis that is doesnt really have to be the same ;) and I hope that they make the game so it can be run maxed out on 2 of the fastest cards at that moment in SLI, and not 3 >.< because that is one thing I really dislike atm!
