Far Cry 2

The fact that Crytek have implemented so much in terms of visuals, physics, AI, weapons, vehicles and vegetation at this early stage of development just goes to show that they have huge aspirations for this game. I personally think that it will be nothing short of brilliant when it's released, just as long as they don't pile in any more mutant monkey/alien squiddy crap and stick to pure, unrestricted sandbox gameplay.
Probably because they said the same thing about Crysis, and look at the huge flop that was.

I wouldn't say it was a flop. Granted, the second half of the game was like a serious step back in terms of gameplay, the last level was bollocks and it sold poorly (mainly due to the realisation that barely 1% of gamers actually have the juice to run the game well) but I personally enjoyed it immensely. Crytek deserve massive props for having the balls to go the whole nine yards and make a game of that scale and beauty, too bad they rushed it out the door a bit too early. If anything, it is ahead of its time and certainly a turning point for first person shooters. I expect huge things from these guys. They've promised bigger and bolder projects (FarCry 2) and I for one hope that they deliver.
