Hey
I am in the market for some RAM and am wanting to get 4GB. I will mostly be doing gaming. So what do you recommend 4 x 1GB or 2 x 2GB sticks. I dont think I will ever need more then 4GB of RAM anytime soon. So out of these options what would you pick. I am hoping to overclock a bit two.

4x1gb is a little easier to OC, but 4 sticks will strain the memory controller on your mobo. 2x2gb only uses two slots so the mobo won't have to worry about feeding voltages to all the slots. timings on 2x2gb is also generally higher. this also will future proof yourself when you buy yourself anothe two sticks later. but by the time you need/want 8gb of memory, DDR3 will be standard and will probably be pretty cheap also.

the timings wont, but having 2x2gb sticks will because you can add 2 more sticks later to have more ram, like a few years from now if your still using the computer and might want to toss in another 4gb of ram.

plus, i'm sure theres already ram in the pc right? add 2x2gb to it and you'd have more then 4gb of ram instead of just buying 4x 1gb and having 2 extra sticks of ram.

Actually I am in the process of building my frist PC.

So out of the 2 x 2GB kits what kit do you recommend. Or if it is not listed which one, I can spend up to $200 on RAM.
