failed motherbored?

On my Abit AV8 setup, been using it for about 4 years, it suddenly decided to stop booting. I had a similar issue before after trying to update bios, and had to re-flash it through dos.

In any case, I was on the Abit forums, but didn't get anywhere, so I was hoping somebody here might have some additional thoughts. On power-up, keyboard and cd lights flash, fans spin, and I get random post codes (c4, c1 07 0.4)

Ive reset cmos, removed clock battery (can this cause issues?), disconnected devices, changed cpu and ram, removed vid card, and tried a new psu. Also tried flashing bios, booting to ms-dos disk. Everything has failed, so my last thought is the m/b has died?

I can get another socket 939 for about 60$ USD, but not sure its worth the effort and cost, if thats even the problem?

I get the idea from the abit forum that maybe the bios is corrupt. Anyone know where I can buy a new bios chip for the AV8, abit doesn't seem to have mine. At the same time though, I don't think its worth paying more than 20 USD for the chip, as I can just buy a new board.

Possibly, maybe if I where to select usb as the first boot device, but theres no way to do that since the computer isn't even getting past post. Usually it would look for the floppy first, but Ive put a bootable/bios disk in there and still nothing. So far I'm just ordering a new board.

I wonder if the cheap psu could have something to do with it, shorting the Abit board (it's from an emachines)? In any case I'm getting a new psu as well by cooler master, dual 12v at 16a each, should help I hope.
