32MB vs 16MB Cache

The 7200.11 is the newest series from seagate, as for difference, do not look at the cache, the bigger the hard drive the bigger the cache, what you want to look at is the seek times, the 7200.10 has a 8.5ms which is pretty good, I have only seen better with a Raptor....$$$$$, It does not say what the seek time is for the 7200.11 but since you said you dont need that much space I would go for the 7200.10.

i've read somewhere that says having a larger cache is a cheaper alternative for having a faster rpm drive.

if you're not in a hurry for a hd and live close to a fry's oftentimes (maybe once a month) fry's would have the 500gb seagate or WD for 89 dollars. the maxtors are more frequent
