Vista 64 and 4gigs ram

Wat i have heard is that when u install vista on a new comp u should only put in 2g of ram first and after it is installed u should add the rest. Is this true?

It is nessecery on some boards. Microsoft has a fix for it. After the fix, you can install the rest of it. The problem shows itself as a blue screen

yeah it really depends. i had to do it once. just try and see if it works. if it doesnt then play around with the ram
 
Was this before a certain chipset? Like maybe with the 945's or something?

I suggested the 945, because that board is so friggin' weird about things...
