The HD3850 and HD3870 is a competitor of the 8800GT, as there is not much setting those two ATI cards apart when it comes to performance. I really don't recommend you getting the 8600GT, those cards are horrible, you should go for the 9600GT if you want decent mid range performance.

I dont think there is a equal ATI DirectX 10 card to the 8600GT-GTS. The 2600XT is slower and the 3850 is quite abit better card. If you have the money the 3850 or even a 8800GS is a lot better card. Or like said above even a 9600GT.

wait, seriously? how do they compare to 3850?

nevermind, they're on newegg. I have for some reason never heard of these.

since they are close to 8600gt certainly they are weaker than 3850.ATI release these cards cos HD2600series suck.
as the other said, think about 8800gs.:)

Reviews don't really matter, because most people give it a good review just because it works. They don't actually grade it on it's performance. If you want a card that performs well, don't get it. Get an 3850/8800GS/9600GT/3870/8800GT.

so yall really don't like the 8600? it got some great reviews from TD. esp. for the price. / i am thinking about that 8800 gs

Me too and thats why I went with the inexpensive 8600gt. Def have to go with the xfx 8600gt xxx zalman edition though if anyone gets one. It runs good for me and i have had no problems at all yet. Havent really put it to the test as all i play is GTR2 and LFS but, downloading the Dirt demo tonight.

WOW, I didn't know they had a HD3650 , maybe they are only released in a specific market. I have not seen or heard anything about a 3650 in Australia.

lovely?

the 8600 series in general are far too underpowered. the 3600 series is a bit better performing, and has many features like HD playback that make it the obvious choice in the sub-$100 market

the 8600GT performs about equal to a 7800GTX ;) note, thats the first geforce 7 series card that was released. so, its not really good.
