Running Vista Home premium 64bit and have no issues with it , solid OS. Also run XP pro but only so that I can play alot of my older games.

I chose good because I like the visuals. I don't do a lot of gaming now (laptop) so I don't really see the performance hit that vista might have while gaming. The OS itself is very eye pleasing, and I like the ease of navigating in and around files. The main thing for me though is the visuals...its a nice looking OS:D

It does come back, but a reboot also cures it.

Ive not got much of a problem on GTA SA, just low FPS on 1680x1050 because its a very poorly written game. (Had the problem in XP also). But at 1024x768 its constant 167FPS.....

yup
plus with it ridicously high requirements people like me with a 2.4 processor can berly make it but with huge lag plus like nothing is compatable

What a load of twaddle. Sorry, but that is just about the funniest comment ive ever seen about Vista.

Its the same as saying Windows XP has nothing compatable.....

Lag, ive no idea what your on about, my Sempron PC runs Vista just fine.

(Sempron 3100+ 1.8GHz, 1.5GB RAM, 250GB HDD, GeForce 6200, Vista Basic)

in my opinion vista is such a memory hog, hardrive hog and etc.

Memory hog = On Systems under 1GB, I agree, on systems with more than 1.5GB, its fine.

Hard Drive Hog = Only if you have a 40GB HDD, Most of us now have 120GB+ hard drives.

In the way of a lag have a look at desktops and laptops. In AUS you see laptops with 1.8GHZ and 512MB ram and they are fine!

So really it doesn't lag

As the way for hard drives... how often do you see a 40GB in a laptop or desktop these days?????

Not very often... so really it doesn't take up a lot of space.

Depends what you want to do on it!

Hey all,

Just spoke to a guy i know from school - he finished year 12 last year.

Today i had city experience and i saw him on the train coming home, so i spoke to him.

He got a vista laptop for Xmas and he is going to downgrade it to XP because it lags the computer - so much!!!!!

1.73GHZ and 512MB Ram - so i see why.

But he is going to try and XP off the net.

No wonder vista is slow on his pc, the specs on that laptop suck!!! Sure it takes a little more for vista to run b/c it is way more advanced than xp!!! Vista has many more things than xp has! If your pc isnt up to spec or you cant run vista then you cant say that vista sucks b/c your pc actually sucks!! (Im kinda speaking against all of you vista haters!!)

yeah back when i had not much ram and everything i was a vista-hater.
but now i can run it fine its the best.
i had to reformat the other day so i went back to xp. could not stand it.
for a start i had to install every single driver. where as with vista i only have to do the graphics drivers. and it looks great. and has heaps of better stuff.

on a side note, is it possible to beat vista chess on hardest?
i have tried many times and cant beat it on easiest :(
