Hi All.
I'd just love to hear that THIS has happened to at least one other person on this earth!

Santa had well anticipated my wishes and I found a 128Mb memory stick in my stocking.

The stick worked fine for about 4 days but from then on, without any warning, whenever it was inserted into a USB port in any XP PC, (we tried 5 different PCs) Windows "found" three drives (the next 3 available letters) and on clicking on any of the 3, requested the insertion of a diskette. The data on the stick was of course lost.

On bringing this up with people I know in computing, no-one has ever had this happen, nor have heard of it happen. The worst someone else has had was the disappearance of data but the stick kept functioning.

Any other Son of Murphy out there?

I'm very familiar with Mr. Murphy and I am quite convinved Murphy was an opptomist. Sound like a bad stick, take it back to store and switch it out. I'v had this happen to my Camera cards.
