speedfan readings

Here is a pic of my speed fan readings. I know just enough about computers to get myself in trouble. :D How can I tell which fan is what? Right now I have a rear case fan, that it came with and the one on the motherboard, and the PSU fan. I have added the small HD fan that attaches to the HD, and a have added a side fan pulling air out. Do these temps look OK?

HD0 is your HDD, obviously:)

To find out which one is your CPU, open 1 or 2 heavy programs at once (Adobe, Virus Scanner, Outlook, etc.); which ever temp jumps up the quickest is your CPU. The other will typically be your Chipset and video card (if you have one). Sometimes though, SpeedFan throws in a misc. temp - if that's the case, you can just hide it via the Configure button.

Edit: Just noticed the programs on your desktop. I'd open Outlook Express, Ad Aware, and Record Now all at once to determine which one is your CPU.

What kind of CPU is it? It's a bit high, but still acceptable. Some just run hotter than others, especially older ones.

The temp is fine - those P4's ran hot to start with. If you're concerned, you could take off the HSF, re-apply a good quality thermal compound, and maybe replace with an aftermarket HSF. If you don't want to go through all that, simply opening the case and dusting it out, paying attention to anything caked in the HSF too, might drop temps a few *C. All-in-all though, unless you notice a decrease in performance or shutdowns due to a hot CPU, nothing to worry about too much.

Thanks for all the help !!! I blew off everything about 2 weeks ago when I added the side case fan. Just wanted to make sure everything is OK.

Had to uninstall pcwizard !! It would not let me have two programs running at the same time. If I was looking at this site and then minamized it to open another web site it would close this site. Is that normal???

No never had that happen. Your temps. other than the CPU looks fine. CPU alittle on the hot side, Check the heatsink and fan for dust and if there clean you could reapply the thermal compound. Dont know how good of air flow that your case has but that helps to.
