Definately go Wacom. I'm happy with my Wacom Bamboo and that was only about $60 (US dollars). If you want a really nice one you could get this http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.pro...2&JRSource=googlebase.datafeed.WAC+CINTIQ12WX (the tablet has a display that you draw on)

If you want one that's a little less expensive you could go with the http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product_Id=4078261&JRSource=googlebase.datafeed.WAC+PTZ1231

It's got a really big workspace.

There are other wacom intuos tablets with smaller workspaces that are less expensive.

Then of course there is the Wacom Bamboo Fun.

Check out their website here http://wacom.com/index.html

Unless your doing some really heavy graphics stuff, I dont think you need anything that heavy duty. The bamboo is fantastic and so is the Intuos 4X6 model which starts at around $150

idk if you mean the bamboo or the bamboo fun, but anyway... I can't tell you much because I'm a Linux user. It's works no problem with the Linux version of Gimp and Inkscape. My brother uses his 4x6 Bamboo Fun in Photoshop CS2 with no problems.

You're welcome! :D Just beware, the software the Fun comes with (the normal bamboo doesn't com with anything but the driver) is pretty bad. Unfortunately, it doesn't work well with Gimp in Windows (the Linux version is fine), so you'll need Photoshop or maybe Corel Painter X. Just make sure you've got some software it works well with... who knows, you might even be able to get Gimp to work.

You'll probably have a hard time finding one in a computer store. I got mine from Amazon.

do you know of any big difference from the bamboo to the bamboo fun?

Well, I've got the Bamboo and my brother has the Fun... the biggest difference is that the Fun has a pressure sensitive eraser (the Bamboo has an eraser, but it just isn't pressure sensitive.) Also, the Fun comes with a mouse and not just a pen (the Bamboo comes with only a pen.) Of course, they look different too.

Unfortunately, for the windows user, the Bamboo installs some office stuff with the driver that will just get in the way of graphics stuff (it seems to work fine on Vista without the driver though.) I use Linux, so I don't have that issue.

what do you mean some office stuff that gets in the way of the graphics stuff

For instance: There's a little popout box on the side of the screen that pops out every time you get near it. It's purpose is to allow you to write instead of typing. It just gets in the way and I couldn't even end the process for it. :p

I definatly need to upgrade, as what I am currently using is so crap that you could evenly compare it to pen and paper... :p I am looking into this bamboo now..

(Oh yeah for greater good when drawing you guys know you should be listening toThis Could Be Beautiful (It Is) by Metronomy.) LOL :p

Thanks,

Tuffie..
