Nice specs but...

What would you use a computer of that power for??

Currently there are no games that are taking advantage of the power of a quad core processor, so unless you are into multimedia high end graphics design, it will be some time before we begin to reap the true benefits of a quad core set up, even with a 9800 GX2.

Of course the way technology is going I wouldn't be surprised that by the end of this year we will start to see more game and computer integration with the quad core set up.

Don't say there are no games that take advantage of it, because there are a few that do.

Its not great implementation, but its still there.

That is incorrect. HL2 has quad core utilization technology, although it is absolutely horrible :p

Either way, 2nd build better.

I stand corrected...lol

OK,

I didn't mean to sound absolute but you know what i mean :D

The overall population doesnt own a quad core, therefore it wouldnt make to much financial sense to design games based on said technology, of course the possibilities are facinating when you stop and think about it.

Ok so you all agree on the second build, just to follow up on the second build.

Buy 9800GX2 now or wait for 9900GTX or 9900GX2 rumoured in July?

r u building this? .. or buying it or .. ?

cause what i don't get is why is one build 3.0ghz and other build is 3.6ghz ..

why not just overclock both to 3.6ghz?

and i'd rather 1 9800gx2 than 2 8800ulta(in sli)

and if u have the money ... y not get a 45nm processor?

I currently have the 1st build but due to a problem with the motherboard (manufacturers fault) it only overclocks to 3GHz.

If I sell my 2 Ultras I can afford a new motherboard and a GX2 or wait for a 9900 card.

i'd rather 1 9800gx2 than 2 8800ulta(in sli)

Whys that? Aren't 9800GX2s only the same as 2 8800Gts in SLI?
