im helping a friend rebuild his comp...and im buying a CPU for it...here's my question...

i picked out this Biostar mobo:

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx...82E16813138040R

and I was looking at this CPU:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819116038

will the CPU work with the mobo? it's the same socket type, but the mobo lists that it accepts socket type LGA775 Core 2 Duo / Pentium D / Pentium 4 / Celeron D, the CPU is LGA775 but it's not a Celeron D, although the FSB matches at 800Mhz too

lovely?

spend the tiny bit more and get something like an e2160, celerons are the suck.

I would say its compatible, but like others have said, perhaps spring for a cheaper Core 2 Duo? That might work out better for you in the longer run.
