    360 Hatred!

I hate the 360 that I bought a year or so ago. I have used their stupid Windows Media Center app to connect to my PC's video files. I can make the connection but can the 360 play anything? NO! Due to the lack of codecs, I cannot play .avi, .mp4, or .mpg. What the hell Microsoft? I'd like to...

    no bass and treble available

Not exactly referring to all machines like you thought. ;) You've been lucky and also used boards that are better than what an eMachine would have. Just so you know, codecs are responsible for encoding and decoding data. The drivers allow you to tune the aspects of the audio.

    Team fortress 2- scout update

I am specifically talking about demomen and soldiers. Any kid who can move their cursor can play those two. I like playing pyro and normally I stay on the top of the scoreboard, I bought TF2 a few weeks after it was released so I have seen its ups and downs over the series of updates.

Has CMS taken over web design?

I totally agree with you. I have never used Drupal but does the way the code is organized differ from Joomla?

    Motherboard Issue

Yeah that would be great....if it had an integrated video chip. See here

    Thinking about upgrading...

I'd pick one of these up. EVGA 9800GT 512MB

    Team fortress 2- scout update

I like their ideas but they always manage to screw up the balance. And that's probably due to what seems like a lack of testing.

Has CMS taken over web design?

Yeah, you're right, every site uses a CMS. And if it uses HTML/CSS/JavaScript then you catch hell over it(as a developer). A lot of new sites are using CMS's because they have download content that can be easily managed by the CMS. And a CMS keeps the user engaged more than a regular HTML...

    no bass and treble available

OMG at the redundant posts from the Silver Members in this thread. Anyway, if the sound is integrated and it is on this machine then it probably won't support bass, treble and such. You need to just buy a sound card that supports it. Since he does some recording, something like this might be...

What Web Browser Do You Use?

I think Chrome is actually without a Silverlight plugin.

    University Network Rant!

The only things I could think of changing are the network proxy both in the OS and in the browser.

    What OS are you running?

I've been running a lot of x64 Linux lately, runs circles around Windows.

    Game Hosting

You don't want to be running a server from a LiveCD, it's laggy enough as it is when a distro is ran from one. The CD would bottleneck the whole server.

    Motherboard Issue

It sounds like to me that the board is shot. I hate to be so quick to jump to that conclusion but if it's that difficult to figure out then it's most likely the board.

    Motherboard Issue

Hmm...Okay, that motherboard is a strange case. What brand/model is it? It should default to PCI-e(without integrated graphics), if it doesn't then it's definitely one weird motherboard. And even with that said, most motherboards' BIOS have an automatic configuration for video so it will...

    Is this a good laptop?

They are pricey. Toshiba is the same way. My Dell Inspiron hasn't been trouble, I've taken good care of it though. Look at those and look at these Asus laptops. It depends on what you use it for. If it's an email checker and web browser then just buy a netbook with a light Linux distro. If...

    Motherboard Issue

If it's Award BIOS and the video card was bad it would be one long and two short beeps. Make sure that RAM is seated good and check all of your capacitors, especially the capacitors near the PCI slots, RAM slots, and controller chips. Usually a bad CPU beep is high frequency so if you judge...

    Gigabyte mobo opinions

Gigabyte motherboards have always been beastly or at least the ones with the solid capacitors. I remember the 965P-DS3's from a couple years back when the Core 2 Duo CPU's came out, those things were awesome. I'd recommend that board, maybe not an open box because it's a gamble with open box...

    Is this laptop worth $770

Are you judging by the frequency alone? I don't think you're too much up on your hardware knowledge. A T5xxx CPU is a T7xxx series CPU less 2MB of L2 cache. And it's a mobile CPU therefore it will not be 3.0Ghz like the desktop Core 2 Duo CPUs. The only limitation on the laptop in the original...

    Guess I'm lucky

Yeah, unfortunately I use Visual Studio. http://www.microsoft.com/Express/ Don't run into it like it's going to be a walk in the park. There's a lot to learn when starting programming so just take it in stride. And when you spot something stupid that the language creators did just take it...
