that is just the speed of your ram. it wont' affect which CPU you can or cannot use.

Just make sure the board you get has a BIOS update to support the new x6s. Mine is great. Depending on the games you play it plays better than an i7. I play Empire Total war and it runs this game amazinly. I am really happy with it.
