How old is your pc or laptop

I still have a laptop computer from the early 90s with a floppy disk (A drive) slot. It came with a case, which was a blessing because those things were heavy (about 13 pounds). Imagine a 13 pound laptop. Not really convenient. It's a Chaplet Systems Model LA-30A. A link to one like it is...

    Antec F12 series RGB fans

You can always go with a fan header splitter. It'll probably handle the voltage requirements, but make sure to check the motherboard specs just in case.

My rear exhaust fan is a little weird

For the most part, I like rear exhaust fans okay. They pretty much keep a low profile and mind their own business; however, recently my fan has been acting a little weird. Before elaborating, let me say about two months ago, I swapped out my second Reeven Four Eyes fan controller for a Kingwin...

Lenovo Thinkpad mouse (Trackpoint) left clicking and dragging on its own

Again, thank you, John. You always get me heading in the right direction. The metal disk had gone off center and needed to be re-seated. Then all was back to normal. Posting this for anyone else who might have similar issues. Thanks again.

Lenovo Thinkpad mouse (Trackpoint) left clicking and dragging on its own

There may be something underneath or stuck on the left mouse button. I had noticed, a few days before this troubling symptom reared its ugly head, that I had difficulty getting a press of the left-click button to register. I found that pressing of different parts of the key would finally get it...

Lenovo Thinkpad mouse (Trackpoint) left clicking and dragging on its own

Grrrr. I'm at about my wits end. Since my desktop was on the fritz, I turned to my trusty laptop to cover me while I worked on my desktop. Well, suddenly, it seems as if the mouse (synaptic trackpoint) seems to be left-clicking and dragging as I move thecursor. It highlights text, drags items...

Continually shutting down on start up

I'll give that a try. And I would concur with your assessment of a sudden PSU failure. And additionally, as it's fairly new and I think has plenty of power for my set up, it' probably not likely - not that my opinion means a lot. Thank you for your help!

Continually shutting down on start up

Hey folks, got a bit of a problem here. There was nothing functionally wrong with my PC. It worked fine, until I decided to address a few RGB issues and upgrades some new RGB stuff in it and put in a different fan controller. I did run into some problems with the 24-pin cable not being attached...

Solder on plastic Lenovo power port?

Darren, you're a genius. I don't know why I didn't think of that - well, I guess I do know - I'm just a novice geek. Yes, it's plugged in to the motherboard, so that should work. Sorry it's taken so long to respond. I've been horribly busy before Christmas break. Thank you for your solution.

Solder on plastic Lenovo power port?

Hi all, I'm in over my head again, and once again, looking for someone who knows more than I do to bail me out. Our neighbor lady (about 80-years-old) has a Lenovo Yoga 2.11 laptop that she uses for social media, emails, and some cross-stitch program on social media. Anyway, she said it would...

    SATA to eSATA ?

Disregard. I grew impatient and just gave it a shot. Amazingly, it worked like a charm. Thanks anyway.

    SATA to eSATA ?

I'm back, with a slightly different issue. I'm trying to troubleshoot the loss of an SSD. I've swapped ports and data cables but I still periodically lose it (i.e., it doesn't show up under This PC). So, the SSD, let's call it the K: drive, because that's what I call it, sometimes shows after I...

location (drive) unavailable - what the...?

My motherboard has six SATA ports, five of which are in use. I moved one cable over and stuck the cable for the K Drive in port I just pulled a cable out of, but I'm sorry to report that did not work. More frustrating by the minute.

location (drive) unavailable - what the...?

Of course. You know, at one point, I that did briefly crossed my mind, but then it just as quickly passed. I'm trying that now. Thanks, John.

location (drive) unavailable - what the...?

Hi all, So, I just turned on my computer a few days back and got the message saying that the location of my drive is unavailable. See below. Sorry, I'd attach it in a file, but the place where I save my pics is on said drive. So, a little explanation: my desktop has two hard drives. The C...

    I've been denied

I have not tried this, but I think I've heard about it. I'm going to give it a shot. Thank you.

    I've been denied

That was almost embarrassingly simple - but effective. And I poked around in the event viewer, but it helps to know exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you.

    I've been denied

Hello all, Contrary to my nature, I'll try to make this short. After starting my computer and walking away, I was mortified to find a BSOD. I did not see any stop codes and my cell phone was off, so I didn't scan the QR. So, I figured I'll just look at the dump file. I've never done this...

    Very high RAM usage

Yeah, I switched to Firefox because Chrome lost all of my bookmarks, but it does seem to be a memory hog. BTW, I got the bookmarks back, but only in a text form, not a hyperlink. I'm still mad about it.
