i think u missed some drivers which is needed for the button to work. my toshiba hav such things n they work fine with right drivers installed. its a good idea to visit sony website n d/l the correct drivers or rather all the driver related to ur system u may find the model no. in the right...
if u just want an mp3 player out of it then u can shut off most of the windows services. u may want to visit black viper's site for that. u can also reduce the resolution of the monitor n colour depth to increase the speed. since 64 MB is really low for XP why dont u try for come low end...
yes they hav recovery partition on the hdd, my system came with a restoration disk. i think its better to call toshiba and ask for one. or u may cisit there website and d/l the restoration program...
smaller screen will reduce the icon size too (at high resolutions) therefore it will not good for long hr office typing work, n surfing. i think atleast 13.1 or may be 14.1 inchs
what abt power pack, are u getting problem while on mains. laptops usually decrase there backligh to conserve battery. may be the power is having some problem.
yes logitech is the best in speaker systems. they some pretty good 5.1 system at $100 or less. just giv a visit to ur nearby shop. i m sure u will not regret buying logitech.
