    Confused...

I've made the assumption that a useful feature such as automatic updates for phones would have also been done for computers which I've just learned isn't. Also keep in mind I used to own a computer myself and many questions I can answer with the help of the internet (which I've done already).

Didn't you read what voyagerfan said? It's a problem that fixes itself. Why even bother to ask?

So let me ask you and voyagerfan, do you have a proposed solution to the user's problem?

When I go to applications in my cell phone, I'm given the option of uninstalling Youtube updates from my phone. If the user also has that option, he can try reinstalling it to see if that works or maybe refresh his computer (the latter technique resolved my problem with updating Adobe reader)...

    Confused...

Let me modify. You can uninstall updates and reinstall them. If that doesn't work, you can shoot Youtube an email and wait for a reply and see if they have a fix (here I caution, technical may not have a fix and you may have to experiment to find a fix like I did with my phone).

I get comments. Have you tried reinstalling Youtube?

There are underlying factors that are common to what he's talking about and what makes videos go viral. Those websites are worth a review.

What's going on with my phone?

I've tried everything suggested except switching browsers. The real question is why does my phone go into superspeed mode while being throttled at the same time? (btw if my phone were unthrottled, it'd be about as fast as superspeed - will have to wait until the 18th to find out). Had assumed...

What's going on with my phone?

From time to time my phone experiences bursts of speed in downloading that I'm unable to explain why. It happened again last night. There's this 32-minute file that at turtle speed can only get up to 13% download completion. This morning, at superspeed (meaning jumps of 2% - 3%), it got all...

    Better YouTube playbacks

I'm aware about what you just related about buffers. Are there video clients that compete effectively with YouTube?
  13. tech explorer

    Better YouTube playbacks

Sure, but I like to get it automated as much as possible.

    Better YouTube playbacks

Is there a phone app that freezes the video when it starts to play, holds it frozen for awhile (say five minutes), then releases the frozen picture allowing it to continue? The purpose to this is to have longer, continuous playback of videos.

Which mobile OS do you prefer?

I want to mention a few things: 1) Chrome isn't compatible with my phone 2) I'm in the middle of testing Opera Mini and so far it looks like there's an actual improvement. Also want to point out that just because a browser works with one phone (or computer) doesn't mean it'll work with the...

Without the internet, what would you do instead?

I hoped to bring out a topic that's different, yet relevant and challenging. Up until about 50 years, we didn't even have an internet and the human races survived quite well. Some people feel we're addicted to the internet. There's essentially nothing wrong with the internet for the most part...

Which mobile OS do you prefer?

Doesn't say explicitly. However: 1) The phone is Android 2) The phone has Flash player 3) Youtube version is 4.5.17 So I think it's a Youtube flash player.

Which mobile OS do you prefer?

I don't like to mislead anybody. In the light of new information, it turns out that I haven't benefitted from Firefox in connection with Youtube. The good news is that Youtube, for some reason, has improved on my phone. I'm not done testing Firefox and if I see something truly positive from it...

Which mobile OS do you prefer?

I'll leave it up to a moderator about renaming the thread. "Why is there no windows, or linux, or even mac options..." I had no interest in those. I'm in the early stages of checking out the ones I listed for consideration for using with my phone (and happy to say I'm getting positive...
