Hi, I am using a USB wireless ethernet adapter to connect wirelessly to the internet. Probmel is it shows up as a USB device and I can "Eject it" but I don't want this to be an option. Is there a way I can remove this particular device from 'Safely remove device' options on the bottom...

Ok, I managed to format the disk via USB with windows 8 on it. I don't really know how I got past the bios to make it boot to USB but I've managed to get it sorted. Thanks for your advice tho.

Hi, I purchased a computer from a friend which was used on a network. I want to reinstall windows but I cant access the BIOS etc. Any suggestions on how to format the HDD. I should know how to but my brain doesnt want to work today.

I like the way you are talking. He could knock the graphics card down and if necessary later down the line he could upgrade maybe IF he wanted to. The i7 hd graphics most likely will be suitable for his needs.

Thanks spirit. As I say, he is not a gamer as such and graphics aren't that important to him. I reckon we could get him a good system for his budget. Ill put together a list for you to scrutinise.

Thanks for your reply. The reason for i7 is that I know he will do some high end processing at some stages albeit not every day. i7 is within his budget but. Take inboard advice regarding overkill.

Without being cheeky mate, if you don't know how to install RAM then I'd advise you to reconsider continuing to build a PC. On the other hand, RAM should slot in rather easily and the slot will be the same shape as the ram. Be careful to check that the pins match up and the 'plastic' bit on...
