HP sent me a USB DRIVE to reconfigure my computer. Everything is ok now and back to normal.

Do you think the USB drive they're sending me will fix it?

I have an extended warranty on it. l called HP and they guided me through several tests. They said BIOS file is missing. They're sending me a USB drive to install the needed hardware.

Thanks John. This was the 1st screen l have ever installed. It was very easy. I'm sure all are not this easy. They even gave me a set of tools to install it. But l didn't need them. I'm sure they might come in handy for something in the future.

Does anyone else, besides me, put tape over your web cam? I heard that the government and hackers can see you through your web cam. How true is this? I mainly have it on my HP laptop and ACER CB so that if I accidentally turn it on.

I ordered a new screen from AMAZON ($59.78). It took less than 5 minutes to remove the old screen and install the new screen. Thanx for all the help and replies.

I did some research on this and found it's a common problem on this brand (ACER) of chromebook. They state the only fix is a new screen. Question is, will it do it again with a new screen? :rolleyes:

How could it have busted? The only time I move it is to dust.

If you expand the pic you can see it real good. There is now a black area about 1" thick below the lines.

I don't know if it's damaged or not. I haven't dropped it or anything like that. It's in the same spot, and growing.

I own an ACER Google Chromebook, which is about 3-4 years old. There are horizontal lines forming on the bottom of the screen. At first it was just a few. Now they have expanded to about 1" thick. Is there anyway to remove them? Thank You.

I own an HP laptop with Windows 10 Home. Sometimes when I use my touch pad to move the cursor, it starts going crazy and I can't control it. The only way to stop it is to try and get it to enter restart or shut down. Why does it do this?

Some websites I go to have scroll bars where you have to hold the cursor on the bar to move it up and down. Others, like on this forum, have arrows top and bottom and you only have keep the cursor on the arrow and press the arrow to move the bar up and down. How do I make the latter scroll bar...
