i formated my computer, and after installing daemon tools, boot time went up, but did not go down after removing it it randomly freezes at startup, at the windows boot screen when the bar goes across, and i have to restart it after that, boot time goes up again also, it randomly freezes...

i dont think it is, because my computer has done this ever since i got it, so it must be some software... i guess ill format, and install 1 thing at a time

i just bought an aspire 520 watt PS +12v1 16A +12v2 18A this was to upgrade from my current +12v12A POS PS which came stock with my compaq sr1550nx i also purchased 2 gig of corsair value ram, heatsinks, and ati x850 pro agp card so, i need to get this new PS installed the problem...

ok, i just purchased 2 gig pc 3200 corsair ram cas latency 3, ati x850 pro, evercool ram heat sinks, aspire 520 watt power supply should my problems be fixed?

Ive got a GeForce 4 TI 4600, and it is not displaying properly (i dont beleive its a driver problem) it displays everything blocky, i can not see my display well at all (it is not useable) i can boot up in safe mode, but cant even get to the welcome screen without my monitor going to sleep...

ok, its definately running better, but still not good... what should the boot up and boot down times be?

not really... still seems way too slow... even after putting geforce 4 ti 4600 in... the graphics r much better, and games dont lag any more, but thats about it... atill takes 90 seconds to boot up

sfc /scannow test run, no results displayed all programs downloaded and quick run, deep scan in process now... so far, not much change

i will get this done when i get home from school, but just fyi, i have experimented with disabling norton, with no luck... so, i dont think its norton
