    PS3 Launch and Pricing

I think we already had a big long talk about companies not legally being able to sell something below its production cost a while back....

    Revised Setup

yes the processor is hyperthreading, but it looks like you have ddr ram and I'm guessing that if its an lga775 chipset it takes ddr2, can't tell you for sure since there's no links

    Question about MEMORY...

virtual memory is a portion of the hard drive set aside to act kind of like ram (though obviously much slower), you can adjust how much hard drive space to set aside for virtual memory somewhere in windows, can't think of where right now, that's all I'd do to start with and see if that helps

    audigy 2 zs power splitter

must be something for the 5.25 bay insert, the audigy 2 ZS itself doesn't need any more power than what it gets through the pci

    New AIM worm problems

not smart Alex, you sure it wasn't from the spicy rice you refuse to call back? :) Sean can't believe you'd actually click on it, he says he never does. Maybe it's time to transfer out of CS....

Need to stop another person from using my wireless connection

I had headaches with WEP connecting on occasion too, easiest thing to do would be to filter MAC addresses, find out your wireless MAC and have that as the only one allowed to access the router, if you turn off broadcast and change the SSID that could help too.

    Good Hard Drive?

that's an excellent drive, 7200 instead of 10k, but the cache should help that out significantly as well, price seems quite high though, any particular reason you want retail over OEM? If not, check out newegg or zipzoomfly

    Speakers wont work???

if you have a sound card, plug it in to that. The mobo doesn't work because the sound card drivers are installed, not the integrated drivers, installing both would cause conflicts

    Scammed

thus far Microsoft has done little or nothing about illegal XP copies in the hands of end users, but they DO want to know if you bought it from a business and it was illegal, since that means one copy versus hundreds of copies. On the Microsoft website they say they will not pursue legal action...

(News) Stained Windows! Microsoft to mark illegal copies

I get copies free through my university, last semester I got XP iso, XP SP1a iso, XP SP2 iso, xp x64 iso, XP SP2 on disk and x64 on disk (the last two were like $10 for shipping, all the others were free downloads). And that's just the XP's, there's 2k3, 2000, and lots of things like visual...

Any Program to help RAID0 without the need for HD Format

no, you could potentially software raid1 with windows 2003, but even for raid1, XP needs a reformat

Building a new system (all components purchased) Any good?

that setup should be more than adequate for those games at probably any setting (bf2 may have to be mid, dunno for sure), don't bother getting 64 bit XP, it's a pain trying to find drivers for everything and there's little if any increase in computing power, as far as other things you need...

cheapest computer you guys can build up...

everything there should work ogther, you still need some sort of disk drive and probably speakers. I would consider looking at a local computer store if you're wanting to spend ~$400 cause you can get a comparable one prebuilt when you get down to the cheap end of the spectrum

    DVD+R or DVD-R?

-r's were originally the only ones to work in dvd players, but that was something to consider like 5 years ago, soon after +r came out, all dvd players began supporting it. As far as a different price, as far as I know they are almost always marketed at the same price. They use different...

putting more RAM into a laptop

upgrading your ram may be as simple as unscrewing a screw or twqo on the bottom, removing a protective door, and plugging another into place. If all your slots are taken you will need to pull an old one to put the new one in. As far as what to get, just get DDR PC2700 DDR333 like you have...

    DDR2 667 vs 800

good question, I think the 800 would be better, but that's sort of a tough call, I'm willing to bet it has better timings at 667 than the other sticks do if you were gonna drop the speed on it, if you've got a big enough budget, this is 800 with CAS latencies of 4 and like $14 more. You've...
