    a gtx 970 will be great. Much better than your current card. I would upgrade your monitor and ram as well. your ram speed is below par even for laptops. same with your monitor. you can litterally get a full hd monitor for 100 bucks brand new. and yes your new gpu will plug right in!

    so I have a Lenovo y500 i7, sli 750's, 16gb ram it only has a 15 inch screen, so if I hook up my laptop to a 1080p monitor and use the external monitor as my primary, would I lose any performance? Thanks!

    All of those laptops are quad core. any of them will be able to handle any game that you throw at thhem with ease. but if you are wanting to go straight up enthusiast (like i did )then get a desktop. it will be ablout 20-45% cheaper (depending on brands) but you lose the mobility of taking it...

    I know that there is no fps limit while playing the game, so i download Radeonpro and that limited it to 60 fps. which made my cpu run at 60-70 C which is WAY too hot imo, since I play games like skyrim, Defiance, League, and Dayz at 55 C Cooling is not the issue. also when I host my own Cube...
