No problem! I checked for updates. Windows and my motherboard are up to date. I may just get rid of that external. I only use it for backups which I have also done via Google. My motherboard is the new bottleneck in my system.. It only has sata 2 and USB 2.0. Hard to justify all the work...

No problem. The firewire is connected directly into my motherboard. Would there be a specific update for the firewire portion on the motherboard? Ill do some googling. Thanks for the lead though.

Yes my 1.5TB External harddrive is connected via firewire. That is the only device.
