I liek the old aim cause theres no aids and junk... its simple, no un needed funtions liek games... it looks basic. I am way to scared to try CS, I have my desktop for that, I bet steam would piss if I tried to isntall it. But other than gamming.. I have had no program problems

So I was worried about my programs not working with Vista. But I installed Ventrilo, AIM 5.5 which is really old, dead aim, middle man and winamp without any flaws. I have yet to have it crash on me or not load. I moved all my music over also, plays fine..... The only thing that gets annoying...

nope, one doesn't know the other is there. ysa you have an 80gig, cut it into 2 40 gigs with disk management.. then install Vista. THey wont see each other once its started. But you can save all your docs in the same place if you want. No profomance decrease other than space left...

Vista could care less where its getting installed. As long as it has the room it will go where you tell it to install, its not controlling until you install it =P

Any program that doesn't have Microsofts approval wont install... It needs to pass by them first. And not to many companies have made drivers for older hardware.. They want you to buy the new stuff so they are taking there time designing the older drivers...

IF you already have XP and want to try vista but to scared, just cut your hard drive into 2 partitions, if you have the space... Put the vista cd in and install vista on the second partition, not touching XP. once its all installed when you boot you can choose between XP and Vista... And have both.

if you turn it off make sure you do them on your own.. like once a week... if you don't do them you don't get bug fixes or security fixes.. leaving you open for the bad bad people out there to take over your computer =D

I would do all the windows updates. Sometimes it notices things are broken and downloads a fix or reinstalls them. also try a good registry scanner like free registry fix. Also! try a system restore under safe mode... go back to a working date... easy fix OR dont look at dirty sites anymore =P...
