I've had a game in my Steam Library for the past year and a half called Gearcity. Never really played it until recently. Fantastic game. It's like that game Detroit for DOS, but improved a lot. Probably my new favourite game. http://store.steampowered.com/app/285110/

Plus the Optimus chips have some serious compatibility issues. I don't even think their is official support for them on Linux. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA_Optimus Half the time I honestly gave up on trying to configure it and I just used Intel only.

After doing some more research, i have come to the conclusion that I will be getting an AMD Graphics card -Cheaper -Powerful enough for me -Better support for Linux -No stupid Optimus chips

I do play a few games. The games I did play worked fine on my laptop. Mind you it wasn't on the highest settings. The game that I own that is the most graphically demanding recommends a "GTX 760+ HD7000+ ". I honestly don't know what the AMD equivalent is.

I have used Solus on this, it used far too much memory for my liking though. Manjaro, I have tried in the past, but to be quiet honest. I don't like it. I might just wait a couple months and see if Slitaz has fixed it's issues. They come out with a new ISO every week now.

Yeah, I've never been comfortable with emulating, I don't want to be breaking any laws. Plus I really like playing the games on a PS2. Nostalgia reasons. Plus I find some really cool PS2 games at a local video game store. It's fun to walk in there and see what they have.

I only use Linux and Unix based operating systems. When Googling this, I got mixed results. On my old laptop I had a Nvidia/Intel hybrid graphics card, it was a pain trying to get the drivers to work properly. Once it was set up, i had no problems with it. I honestly don't know what to choose.

I will be playing some Team Fortress Classic as soon as I can get steam to work.
