It's a brand new SSD we're talking about.

What could be causing this issue? Sometimes the computer just locks up. When I go to the Task Manager and see what's up, the CPU load is at 0%.

Yes, but I guess some people tend to forget that older hardware won't get the same support as modern ones.

I also agree that getting an AM3 platform based rig is not a good idea. Your hardware will become obsolete even faster.
