Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

Well, to be fair as I said I haven't asked him this time, I just remember his mentality. So maybe he wouldn't mind on this issue. However, unless I feel that I need his questionable help I probably won't take it there again for now.

Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

Yeah supposedly the guys at the store did that too and the issue is still present. It really confuses me but hey maybe the guys at the store lied and the HDMI indeed just doesn't work. I'll see if it works with the VGA to DVI-D adapter that I'll probably get tomorrow.

Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

Well, once I had asked to watch as he fixed something in my computer and he said that that would basically be him showing me how to do it myself and therefore it would be detrimental to his business. I didn't ask him for the current HDMI issue since I just got my computer back and don't want to...

Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

Well, the guys at the store verified that they checked the HDMI and it works for them. I don't know what to make of that. I got an HDMI to DVI-D adapter (monitor's HDMI port -> HDMI cable -> adapter -> desktop's DVI-D port) and tried that but again, the second monitor isn't detected at all. I...

Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

Haha well thanks for the insight! I'll take it to the service store tomorrow as well and tell them to double check the HDMI. Maybe they hastily said "yes we checked" in order to not say anything bad for them, I don't know. I mean the thing that makes the most sense to me is that the HDMI port...

Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

There is one additional DVI port that I can use to connect to the second monitor's VGA port, but still I don't get it since previously the setup worked just fine as it was. With the primary monitor occupying the first DVI port and the secondary one occupying the HDMI port. Nothing changed...

Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

Ok so I got off my ass and looked it up a bit. For the primary monitor I'm using a VGA cable that's goes into a DVI adapter. So the primary monitor's port that I'm using is VGA. So I'll just disconnect that and connect the cable just the way it is to the secondary monitor, see how that goes...

Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

The primary monitor is connected via a DVI cable with a VGA adapter that connects to the graphics card. I might have the two backwards, point is that the shorter of the two is the cable and via the adapter it turns into the wider of the two and then connects to the desktop. The two monitor have...

Monitor connected via HDMI isn't detected.

Hello people, I've had this issue for a while now, but this week I took my computer to a service store and they looked at the various graphics abnormalities. One big abnormality was that the second monitor I use was suddenly no longer detected by Windows 10. It's been connected via HDMI and...

My 2nd monitor is no longer recognized it seems.

So, I've been using a two-monitor setup for a couple of years I think and it's been great. Suddenly, one or two months ago, my second monitor stopped being recognized. To begin with, I have windows 10, an i5-8600K processor, a Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming motherboard, an ATI AMD Radeon R9 380 4GB...

Every time I upgrade drivers (AMD), my monitor is out of range?

I don't know how great of an idea that is :P I'd like to be able to play most games without silly crashes here and there and I have noticed that updating the drivers actually helps with that!

Every time I upgrade drivers (AMD), my monitor is out of range?

Ok so I ran DDU in safe mode, cleaned and restarted (normal mode) and then, disconnected from the internet, I installed the drivers I had downloaded and got the same result. The drivers are the latest available (18.7.1) and I don't know if this helps but I remembered when it all started. At some...

Every time I upgrade drivers (AMD), my monitor is out of range?

Alright, I'll try a clean installation using DDU. I'll get back to you. Edit: At the link you've posted, it mentions that it should be used in safe mode for best results, are there any things I should be careful with? Or do I just go in safe mode, run DDU, hit a big, clear "Clean" button...

Every time I upgrade drivers (AMD), my monitor is out of range?

Oh no, I understood what you meant, I mentioned the format because that was the last time I tried to perform a clean install of the video card drivers. Everything I said is about an installation of the video card drivers, not of Windows. So, with that in mind, the difficulty that I was met with...

Every time I upgrade drivers (AMD), my monitor is out of range?

Some sort of corruption?? What exactly does that mean? Will the corruption you mentioned be treated if I perform a clean install? I don't feel great about a clean installation and here's why, after my last format, Windows 10 installed some drivers for the video card that weren't the latest. When...

Every time I upgrade drivers (AMD), my monitor is out of range?

Thanks for replying. It is indeed a dedicated video card, it's an ATI AMD Radeon R9 380 Series 4GB, I bought it brand new around 4 years ago I think. I think it works just fine, the temp has always been a bit high but from what I gather that's just AMD in general. If I remember correctly, I had...

Every time I upgrade drivers (AMD), my monitor is out of range?

Hey, so as I mention in the title of the post the monitor goes out of range every time I upgrade the drivers. I've gotten kinda used to it now, every time this happens I open AMD Radeon settings and use the Windows key + left arrow to move the window to the left (secondary) monitor and from...

Antivirus real time protection stopped at startup?

I probably will format it after all. I went in safe mode, with the Ethernet unplugged, to uninstall Avira and install AVG. Both actions were unsuccessful, so again without internet connection, I went in "normal" mode and uninstalled Avira successfully. Restarted my computer and tried to install...

Antivirus real time protection stopped at startup?

Well, I seemed to think so. For a System Restore wouldn't I need to have a System Image? I hadn't created one. I downloaded and ran malwarebytes and adwcleaner, the first found nothing, the second found two items chrome related and I cleaned them. What antivirus would you recommend if not Avira...
