lol @ ever considering using a paid "big name" AV solution, they're memory hogs and always have been... and in some cases probably untrustable in the case of companies like Kaspersky who i seem to recall once logged a bunch of data on their own servers and shared it with russian intelligence...
I'm probably going to go ahead and upgrade the RAM to 8GB DDR3 SDRAM in this OptiPlex 390 at some point, but I'm not keen on touching the processor or such which is from the Sandy/Ivy Bridge era.
I'm generally just interested in upping some performance in things, not a heavy at all gamer (or a...
There's apparently quite a lot of issues with it draining battery and appears to be an ongoing problem since quite a while from a quick search on Google. I don't have an Android device, though.
Look for a DVD-video authoring tool. I'm guessing that's what you're looking for - VLC can't do this, it's just a player.

What was said above plus some extra detail:
Usually, a 32-bit OS can only use approx. 3.83GB of RAM unless a physical address extension is used, though those typically lead to instability and you can’t allocate more than 3.83GB to an application anyway.
Alongside that your onboard graphics are...
