ever heard of slow boot from new hd?

No, you did the right thing there... If the fixes other members suggests don't work, then RMA that hard drive, cause those Velociraptors are supposed to be really fast drives.

I need some upgrades. help please.

I'd say more ram (no point having more than 3 gigs if you have 32-bit OS though) or CPU and new graphics card. Maybe a GTX260 You could also get a new processor, but I'd be worried about the power supply. Maybe get a new PSU first save to buy a new CPU later. EDIT: You can check your PSU...

I wonder what the resale value will be in one year? $150? EDIT: If it sold for $10,000, that's a $26.98 loss per day!

strange colors when I start up a game

It happens, can be cause by data corruption/fragmenting. You should be good for a while though. You may be able to prevent further data corruption by running the defragmenter program. Have you done this before? It's good practice to run it like once a month.

    PROJECT: Car-Puter!

For power, it depends if you go PC or laptop route. PCs require a bunch of different voltage, you may as well just get an inverter and standard PC power supply. Laptops usually require one voltage, so you may able to find a DC to DC converter that will do the trick. Not only is it more...

    finding led monitor

OLED are a type of LED. I believe an LED TV uses OLEDs. Actually I think you right, looking at these monitors they are priced like normal LCDs. So I'm thinking they are all LED backlight, not LED Monitors. Maybe newegg will make a better distinction as LED Monitors become available.

strange colors when I start up a game

It should give you the option to keep save game files, but just incase you can always back them up yourself (Have look in the program folder). You may want to also backup map files that you acquired that are not part of the original install.

Nothing shows up when I turn on computer?

Could be ram issue. Have you tried swapping/moving/reducing the ram? Have you tried running memtest86?

    Is this a good deal?

I think the HD 4770 is a better card. Probably the best deal, considering it would also be new as opposed to a used 8800GT.

    Need advice

Depends on the speed you compare. The i3's are dual-cores so a core 2 quad would be better for the same speed. But here's the thing, the older core 2 duos and core 2 quads are mostly socket 775. This is slowly getting phased out for socket 1156 and 1366. So if you want a PC that will last a few...

    Need advice

Basically the i3 are entry level, i5 mid, and i7 high-end. The computer you linked may not be able to run final fantasy xiv, due to the poor graphics. However, that is something you can upgrade later. If you want to be able to play final fantasy xiv, you'll need to meet the minimum...
