700 MB DivX file ... to DVD-R... Nero 7 (Vision) can do the straight conversion?

But yes you can use Nero 7 to convert it, but its just not the best for video quality, and its fairly notorious for sound/video problems resulting from encodes. TMPGEnc is a good encoder, and DVD2SVCD and The FilmMachine are good programs for conversion. Good idea to check out doom9.org and...

Windows Media player to AVI converter!!

Well you can just rename wmv files to .mpg and they will run fine in a player; ignoring any error that might come up. Then I just take the mpg file and run it through TMPGEnc to make an mpg that can be burned to disc.

I have 4 bin/cue for CDs ... anyway to make a workable DVD of the 4 CDs

Probably the easiest way would be to burn them as they are on a data DVD, and then use Alcohol to mount each image off the disc one by one. Daemon Tools would possibly be better for mounting, I think Alcohol only supports 1 virtual drive.

WinAVI is probably the most easily recognisable converter for this http://www.winavi.com/ . Certainly worth a look.

    Download video....all sound no pic?

Thought I'd try to offer another option. It is simple to use, but Nero isn't the best to encode from avi to DVD. It's far better to use a proper encoder for the process (TMPGEnc, CCE, QuEnc [latter = free]). There are tonnes of good guides you can find to use program(s) that will produce much...

    Which should I use DVD-R or DVD+R?

Personally, I only ever have used DVD-Rs. It's a good idea to try to find your DVD Player on videohelp.com, as it should tell you which media are compatible with your 'Player. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

AVI to DVD Format HELP ME!!

From the DVDSanta website - No time limits, No Feature limits, Fully functional, Will show "Demo Version" text on the output video. $29.99 It's not free, I presume the watermark is intrusive to playback, and I tried it a while ago and didn't think much of it.

Any decent free codecs out there?

Just use VideoLAN - good free video player - it will take DVD Movies, anything you throw at it really. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ It's all integrated in the program so you don't need to install codecs to play videos.

AVI to DVD Format HELP ME!!

For a free encoder, your best bet would be QuEnc, which you can download off Doom9.org, on which there also happens to be a guide for the process. http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/quenc.htm (links for the files you will need at the top of the page) It is also possible to use the...

    DVD Conversion issues

One of the easiest methods for DVD->avi (XviD) would be using Auto Gordian Knot (guide here). For DVD->MPEG-2, well, take a look here, my person preference of the two methods listed there is DVD2SVCD, and while it says that it requires one of two programs which aren't free, the latest...

    DVD Conversion issues

This would be due to a low bitrate at certain frames of the video. Two solutions instantly spring to mind: 1) Encode from DVD to higher bitrate 2) When encoding to MPEG-2 use 'multi-passes' and 'VBR' to distribute the bitrate better

After you choose amounts of compression and what to compress/keep etc, and select 'Backup' a menu comes up where under the 'Target Device' tab there is an option for 'Select backup target'. Choose ISO from the drop down list.

    dvd burner programs

Take a look here http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/ One of the easiest methods is using DVD Shrink. A good program to get past the copy protection is DVD Decrypter, which you can find in the software pages on afterdawn as well, though it is no longer being developed.

    Video File Format

QuEnc and TMPGEnc both do not produce watermarks on the 'free' versions. CinemaCraft Encoder will, and some others. Of the two I would recommend TMPGEnc because QuEnc requires an avisynth script file for input. However, free, TMPGEnc will only encode to MPEG-1 indefinitely, encoding to...

    Pro Evolution Soccer 5!

Yeah but I guess they don't want to allow EA's FIFA games to monopolise a year, and the fact that there'll be enough tweaks to make people want to go out and buy it. No record of PES5 on PC on play.com but I would imagine November release date for it.

metal gear solid 3: snake eater

Yeah its totally awesome....though after I completed it once I didn't bother with it again. The boss fights are superb and the camoflage system was well implemented on it, so it was a good step up from MGS2, as was the environmental setting. Cut scenes are all really well-done and the music...
