I'm trying to print and read from a .pdf file that is not viewable at 100% zoom but when at 400% it is visible. Is there a way I can scale it down so that it is visible but not really big when trying to view it cause at 400% every letter covers about an inch of the computer screen.

what I would do is just make a new partition from partition magic. don't choose the install a new operating system option. Then pop in the vista cd or open from image drive. Run the setup and it should ask you where you want to install it. Point to the new partition and it should work.

Maybe you can notify them that you can do that. Show them how to secure it.Then they know you can be trustworthy and let you share internet connection and maybe allow you to have access to their files too?
