Cheers for the replies! Just a quick update; I ended up picking up a HP Windows Mixed Reality headset and it's superb! 1440p per eye and in-side-out tracking, so no fiddly setup or mess. Very happy with it!

Is it super noticeable? I don't have a super high-end rig either so the lower resolution was sort of an attraction haha. Hmm, not too much I guess. The DK1 is like $50, haha.
