I have heard that ddr2 800 is good ram for the time being but will that be oc for high overclocks 4+. This is my first time building a computer

I have heard mixed reviews, does anyone have experience on these as far as boot times and such. some people say its a near instant boot and others have said they haven't noticed a difference at all.

I seem to have gotten it up to 2.35ghz x10 with 1.500 by lowering the ht multiplyer to 3x. i think i might be able to higher but i would have to raise the voltage more. i think that the voltage is to high and my motherboard only allows it to go up to 1.55. thanks for any input. :)

MY system is am2 sli deluxe 2 gig 667 ram 3800x2 cpu 80 gig hdd 550 watt duel rail rosewill psu so i have been playing with it and i have it up to 2.25 at 1.475 volts with multiplier of 10. i have ht multiplier at 4x at mem set at 533 and pci bus locked at 100mhz. im new to overclocking...

Ok so i bumped up to voltage more and it works now. i thought it was supposed to not boot up if the voltage was to low but now i know it defaults to lower settings.

How fast of a nic do i need? my motherboard specs said it was 10/100/1000 but the store only had one that said 10/100 is this the right speed?

I dont remember much from when i was in school im trying to do a raid config im not sure which one to use, the set up was 2 hard drives working as one, spreading out the data. is this a raid 0

hmmm, i might do that but if i get a faster cpu then i need a faster mobo and faster ram it bumps the price of the whole computer up. kinda wanted the crossfire for bragging rights.

Ok so this is a stupid question but, if your motherboard fsb is 1066 then you run ddr2 533 or 667 not 1066 ram? nvm i got it Why on the other hand does the mother board say you should run ddr2 1066 when if i understand i should be running 667 ram for a fsb of 1066-266mhz

In regards to what to what i read in the post i think you would be better off getting 1066 ram to match your cpu and you probably should just use use what your motherboard says its compatible with, as for the duel channel thats not how i remember duel channel working you shouldn't have to add...

I thought windows only supported 4 gigs of memory but that does that include your video card memory? how much does 64 bit vista support?

by the way its a dlp rear projection, not a projector with a pull down screen or what not :p

Thanks, I ordered the 4870x2 2 gig card with a q6600 quad core. lets see how it does and it comes with the dvi to hdmi cable already=sweet! im so excited.

The reason i ask, I'm concerned that i might burn out my card or power supply. this would be my second build but i'm a novice at best. Would an 8800 ultra get decent graphics without burning itself out? or is this even possible?
