I've got this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118003 heatsink. The fan never really spun very well. When it did it was very slow. Now it has stopped all together. My question is, can I replace just the fan so I don't have to buy another $40 heatsink?

Adding it through device manager worked, Although for some reason it was coming up as a pci devince... oh well.

I installed all the audio drivers they had available, both from the disc, and then from their website. (it's a gigabyte board btw model "GA-945GCM-S2") C Also, there is the Realtek audio folder in my program files folder, but none of the .exe files will open I double click and it just ignores me...

After building a new machine, I installed all the drivers on the Mobo disc. For some reason though, it still doesn't recognize the realtek audio driver. Giving me no audio for anything... Any ideas? I'm planning on downloading the driver from their website to see if it is updated or something.

For the 8600 cards, is a 450 watt powersupply enough?

He's got PCI-e. Just wants to stay pretty cheap. I think he'll end up going with the 8600gt. Like I said, All he plays is WoW on it. but he'd like to be able to run bioshock to play thourhg.

The card is not performing correctly, He's getting random freezeups, bluescreens, this crazy Fractal looking thing. For a while the computer would crash within 5 minutes of boot up everytime. He seems to be getting lucky now and it'll last a while. And as for the 9600, he is on a tight budget...

Mind finding me a link sometime? I Found xfx 8600gt xxx but not Zalman edition, and it's only $70.

Yeah, I'm sure. And a nice cooling fan would be almost as much as that card. Might as well spend the extra $20 for an upgrade.

Hey, a friend of mine bought this card used from another friend of ours. He warned us that it runs hot, but using ntune it's reading it at 150c when under load. My 8800gts is only at around 60c. Is this normal for this card? Should we be worried about frying anything? He doesn't have the best...

My machine was doing this same type of thing, I've got a thread in here about it. I ended up unhooking all my drives, optical, HDD, and Floppy. For some reason with the floppy unhooked it works fine...

Alright, A friend at work said to disconnect EVERYTHING from the board and try to boot up. I did this and It turns out my floppy drive is to blame. No idea why or how but with it unhooked everything boots like normal. I'll update my bios and see if I can reconnect it, if not... who needs floppy...

I'll check these when I get home. Anyone else with any other ideas?:confused:

I've tried every combination of drives connected. Having just the HD connected, just the DVD, both, neither, all of which get me a blank black screen. No POST, no bios nothing at all. Everything is getting power, fans spinning, lights on. Just no function what so ever.

Tried this, disconected both the HD and DVD independently and both at the same time. Still don't get to bios.

Sometimes when I'm typing in a text box (much like this one) Pressing the (') apostrophe key or the (/) backslash? key it opens a "quick find" toolbar at the bottom of the window. I have looked through the options and can't find a fix for this. Any help?

Thanks. I'll try that. The case fans is only a 3 pin connector while the cpu fan is 4. When i plug it into a 4 pin spot it doesnt work. but when i plug the cpu can into a 3 pin connector it works fine. I'm guessing that that 4th wire is an activation one or something? Edit: This worked. I'm now...

Well crap... is that worth returning it? Or is there a simple fix to this. and while on the subject, can you buy extension wires for those little 3/4pin connectors? My case comes with a speed knob but the connector for it is forcing me to run a wire over the northbridge? heatsink and it is...
