    E8400 or not?

Oh, you did say US200 didn't you. My bad, for some reason I thought you said AU because E8400s are around 200 here as well. Not sure what your best option is then, you might be able to find a good quad core in your price range, but I'm not sure. Edit: Oh, you say Aus 2200 at the top and US200...

    E8400 or not?

for au$200 Definately the E8400, where I buy my components, that's definitely the best for that price range (and yes I'm including quad cores in that statement)

    E8400 or not?

In my opinion, by the time games really require quad cores, the current quad cores will be outdated and the i7's will be out and everyone will be upgrading to those. Then again I'm a proud E8400 owner so my opinion could be considered biased :P

    Dodgy E8400?

worth a try. I was able to overclock the 667 RAM up to 800 which I didn't think was bad as it's fairly basic stuff

Networked CS using same Steam account

Networked CS using same Steam account

Is it possible to run a network server for Counter Strike and play it using the same Steam account on two computers? I know you can't do it online, but does Steam stop you doing it if you're playing on a LAN server?

    Dodgy E8400?

It's a pretty standard DIMM of RAM. The model number is KVR800D2N6/1G. It's 1.8v The funny thing is, my old 667 RAM that lets me overclock is the exact same model, except it's the 667 version. I'll buy some better overclocking RAM later in the year.

    Dodgy E8400?

Hmm, that's a good point, I could always put my 667 RAM in it and try with that because I was able to get a 30% overclock with my E4400 in my last setup. I'll try that out and let you know how I go. Edit: Thanks a lot. My old RAM seems to overclock fine with this setup. I never really thought...

    Dodgy E8400?

Bought an E8400 and a Gigabyte EP45-DS4P yesterday and just thought I'd do a small overclock just for starters while running on stock cooling. I changed the bus speed from 333 to 350, that's about a 5% overclock and I figured I wouldn't have to alter the VCore or anything else like that. When I...

    Choosing a new motherboard

OK, I'm fairly certain I will be going for the Gigabyte board. From what I've read, most boards with 8 pin connectors will still work with 4 pins. In a page I was reading someone was saying that you only needed the 8 pin for Core2 Extremes, while on another page someone was saying that the 8...

    Choosing a new motherboard

Choosing a new motherboard I'll be buying a new motherboard within the next week along with an Intel E8400. I will be overclocking it at some point so the motherboard needs to have fairly good overclocking features. I will be buying it from either MSY or CPL. Their sites parts lists are...

    Folding@Home: CF Official Discussion Thread

Hi, just started folding today. It took about 27 minutes to get to 1% running on both cores, (it's a 2gHz C2D E4400, OCed to 2.6). I'm currently doing project number 2665 Because it's taking so long, i wanted to know if it will continue if I turn off my computer and turn it back on again. Also...

    .:Post your panoramas:.

Taken in Yosemite in 2005 when I went to the USA. That was taken at the base of half dome. You should try taking shots with the same person in each frame and then stitch them together so that they appear multiple times in the one photo. It looks kinda cool

Clock in Leopard keeps changing itself

I think that the problem is that it keeps changing the time back to GMT because where I live it is +10, and the time that it reads is 10 hours ago. When I change it to the correct time zone it doesn't give me the option for apply or anything like that, and it ignores the changes I make
