The hotfix has helped, but it is still crashing on occasion. Nowhere as much as it was. There are also still little skips during gameplay, again specifically with cs:go.

Yeah it is just Cs:go mainly. The only other odd thing is I don't see the windows logo on start up but I do with the onboard graphics. I have undercooked the card back to standard 7970 speeds as mine is a factory of version.

So I ran furmark for 10 hours, and everything is happy. Does that mean there could be something else causing an issue?

I guess I'll have to live with my onboard graphics for a little bit then. At the very least the new cards could push the gtx 970 into my budget.

I'm in Australia, but I guess something around the $300-350 mark would be preferable. I was thinking maybe something in the gtx 960 series? Also, for about an extra $100, I could get a gtx 970, would it be a better card to put into my system over a 280x/960, or would the rest of my system...

Sadly to say, I'm now 90% sure my card is on the fritz. I got through 2 competitive matches on cs:go without a crash. Normally it would do it 2-3 times. Going to put the card back in tomorrow and run furmark to confirm, but looks like a new gpu for me. Any recommendations?

Have swapped to integrated graphics, will run Counter Strike: Global Offensive tonight when I'm free to see whether it continues the issue, as that is the program that is locking up the most.

Hmm that's annoying. I don't even think this system is that old. =\ I could try the onboard graphics, as I don't have a spare card. Is there a program I could run to stress the gpu, to see whether the load would cause it to crash?

Memtest didn't report any errors. =\

Ok, I will run it and let you know of the results. will memtest leave any logs which would be helpful?

I finally upgraded from my corsair hx-520 today after nearly 10 years of service. Been through 5 systems now, and only just starting drop in power output. Very impressed to say the least.

Upgraded today to a thermaltake 650w litepower. The crashing has slowed, but not stopped. Maybe I need to run a stress test on the gpu/memory? Thanks for the help in advance guys.

Yeah, updated the graphics drivers yesterday. Running a corsair hx-520 psu.

I wasnt sure where to post this so if mods need to move it, do so. I'm having issues with my computer crashing, mainly under load playing games. No BSODS, the game crashes and i can hear audio clearly (skype calls etc) for another 10-20 secs before the system shuts down. Specs are as follows...
