What do you think of Norton?

Norton is a total system resource hog. I recently uninstalled it on a client's pc and they notice a huge gain in performance. Shortly after that I installed AVG Free and they've been plenty happy with that.

    Norton Anti-Virus and BSOD

Ok I tried running the nortan removal tool but it didn't seem to fix anything. And yeah the sfc /scannow is the thing i ran earlier. System restore is no good because it doesn't go back far enough to before Norton was installed. We are probably just gonna leave it how it is. I don't think it's...

    Buying Vista

Can someone explain why 64 bit is the way to go? It has been my experience that the 64 bit version is more trouble to set up and configure. It requires 64 bit drivers which don't function as well as their 32 bit counterparts, aslo some programs run worse on 64 bit windows vs. 32 bit. Am I...

opening ports in Linksys WRT54GS router

No, opening up that many ports is not a good idea. Usually if its a few ports in a row like 10-25 or something like that. Have you tried reading up on ea's support site to see why you can't connect? Do you have a software firewall, like the built in windows firewall?

opening ports in Linksys WRT54GS router

Are you sure ports need to be opened for the game to function? They have 2142 at the lan center around here and i'm pretty sure they don't have any ports forwarded. In any case you should be able to set a range of ports, instead of setting them individually.
