After tapping F8 during startup, none of the options available (such as safe mode etc..) were System Restore, or Factory Restore, or anything having to do with accessing a recovery partition.

So, if I turn the computer on and start tapping F8, like I would to get into safe mode, if I see that option in the list, what should I do from there, chose that and follow prompts?

AVG 8 Free for anti-virus and real-time spyware protection. Ad-Aware 2008, Spybot Search and Destroy, and SuperAntiSpyware, A-Squared, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware... all free scanners to remove malware that gets through.

Read up on an use autoruns to control startup items.

What you should do is post all the personal and private information you have about him so that we can mess with him a little. Does he have a MySpace? Facebook? Etc...

I have a Hawkings H2WR54G router and it's sending out an unsecured, unnamed (default is the name actually) wireless signal to 4 computers in my small business. How do I secure the router so others can't jump on my Internet connection, and how do I name the signal so it matches my company name...

Please correct me if I am wrong, but as I understand it, HJT "fixes" nothing until you tell it to but ComboFix, VundoFix, SDFix and SmitfraudFix actually do fix things just by running them, even without advanced knowledge of reading and acting on the logs, is that correct?
