Getting a 22" Monitor, Do I need new GFX

I am looking forward to getting a new Benq FP222W monitor. I currently have a 128MB Radeon X300 graphics card. If I were to use this monitor at 1440x900 or higher, would I need a new graphics card? If so, which would you recommend? I don't do much gaming, only old games such as Warcraft III.

Beginner wants to build a comp!

Drop the sound card, and you wont need such a big power supply. Get a CoolerMaster eXtreme 430W which would run your system just fine. It is about $60 AUD. Which would mean that you would be at your $1000 mark. But if you really are a HARDCORE gamer, then you could stay with the sound card...

No, I don't think that getting a 7600GS would require a PSU upgrade.

which 8800gts should i get? XFX or EVGA?

As they are virtually the same, I would choose the XFX version as it is 10 dollars cheaper after the MIR.

    2GB vs 4GB - How much of a difference?

Unless you are running 64 bit Vista and using applications that require a LOT of RAM, there is not much point of getting 4 GB of RAM. 2 GB should be sufficient.

    Wait for the Nvidia G90?

Instead of the 8800 ultra, can't you just get the 8800 GTX and overclock it yourself?
