Well, just make sure you have plenty of case fans really. They don't have to be expensive or pretty, just as long as they do the job. And make sure they fit the openings on the case - the site will probably list where you can put what size fans and such. I would put a fan anywhere you can get...

    random computer shut down ?

You can check your ram with memtest. www.cagedwarfare.co.nr/admin/memtest86_3.4a_en.zip And your hard drive with seatools. www.cagedwarfare.co.nr/admin/seatools_2.13_en.zip Don't know if they help at all?

    network printer help

I thought they were all running XP. Vista laptops probably explain why there is some issues. When I did this with an old home server, it took me days to make it work (and I think it was a fluke anyway).

Oh, OK then just go with the 1600. When I checked about 2 weeks ago (in UK) there was a massive difference of something like £22 a gig! Lucky 'ole you.

Yeah, DarkTears, you probably will cry after you realize that windows won't let you read a book in the time it takes to load. It always surprises me that people still manage to find PC's that slow "useable".

Looks OK then, just make sure the system has plenty of cooling. Otherwise, it will catch fire! Hope that helps :)

    Touchpad problem?

Yes, I am having a problem with my touchpad. My computer is idling at around 90 degrees, which is pretty much standard. It's an Asus and I know they have heat problems. Recently, the touchpad has been intermittent and I have had to resort to a wireless mouse to do the job, but it's a pain in...

    Laptop Running Hot? Possibly Overheating?

Haha!!! What about when your laptop is topping 130 like mine sometimes does? The keyboard practically melts! I really think it should go back to the manufacturer. . .

laptop and ati mobility x2600 graphics

From what I can find out, the x2600 is a bit more powerful than the 8600gt for laptops (I'm much more used to nVidia). As long as you're not planning on anything using high definition or large resolutions it should be fine, but if you want better quality, maybe look for something better. Also...

Maybe format the drive and try again? Seatools might be able to help you. http://www.cagedwarfare.co.nr/admin/seatools_2.13_en.zip No guarantees that will work though. Maybe a last resort?

Would this hard drive be an advantage in New System?

It's just the fact that once you start getting a few games on there, you can take up that space quite easily. If you're not gonna have hundreds of games or huge programs, then that space shouldn't be a problem. But I'm talking stuff like Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Legacy, CS:Source & 1.6, Fallout...

Building a gaming PC - please review components

Also, the Q6700 is about £80 more expensive (about $100 atm I think). So I think the overclocked Q6600 (for less than £880) is the way to go to be honest.

Looks good to me, but why 1600mhz ram? I don't really see that much of a performance increase between 1066mhz and 1600mhz. Also what about a DVD drive and operating system? And that graphics card is big and hot, make sure you have plenty of fans.

    Help Please

Hmm, that seems fine for the GPU to be honest. If it was idling at about 75 and up, I'd think that was too high. . . If your GPU turned off at 53 degrees, then it looks like there is some other problem - a GPU should still be running fine at that. Maybe a PSU problem? When your computer draws...
